About 4 Weeks to Go.

Big Decisions to Make

01. I really need to pick a departure date.

Notable memories

08/17/19: Very close to deciding on a one-way plane ticket to Dublin, and starting there by finishing the Dingle Way, and then playing it by ear.

08/19/19: Played half hour of basketball with my grandson, Jayden, this afternoon. Amazing with all the training that I do, that 30 minutes of driveway basketball with Jayden just completely tires me out.

08/20/19 Comparing Health Care Plans for International Travelers. Some options require having a primary insurance plan in the states. Not clear if Medicare or Tricare For Life counts.
Dates of travel: Sept thru Oct 19

Allianz Travel Insurance: waiting on quote (email)

Blue Cross/Blue Shield: not available to NY residents.

HTH Travel Health: anywhere from $260 to $490, depending on total coverage and deductibles.

John Hancock: $280 to $340. Reviews.com rated this plan best. They do state they may receive a commission if I follow the link.

Seven Corners: would only give me a basic plan which I felt was insufficient coverage.

Travel Guard (AIG): trip must be shorter than 30 days.

World Nomads: age limit, must be under 65.

08/22/19: Digging into the Via Francigena website. Lots of good info. Esp need data on stages and accommodations.
